A teenage motorist has been banned from the road after crashing his Subaru over Marine Drive in Douglas.
The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had two passengers in his car when he went over the cliff on January 23rd.
He was charged with causing serious bodily harm by driving without due care and attention and was sentenced at Douglas Courthouse.
In addition to an 18-month driving ban he was also fined £500 and ordered to pay court costs - he must also take an extended driving test before he's allowed to drive again.
Police say it was a case of an 'inexperienced driver' in a powerful car and say the fact he's now off the roads will protect others and give him 'some time to reflect'.
