Giving a lift after drinking beer and vodka has landed a Douglas man a driving ban.
Leigh Kneen of Hilltop View appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 20 year old admitted drink-driving his VW Golf on Shore Road in Gansey on July 23.
The court heard police were told Kneen was drink-driving shortly before 5am.
Officers found him in bed at home just over an hour later and tests showed he was one and a half times over the limit.
He admitted he’d had up to 8 drinks in different bars before going home – only to get behind the wheel later to drive a friend to Port St Mary.
Magistrates banned him from the roads for two years and fined him £1,350 as well as ordering him to pay £125.
