Drainage works will mean temporary traffic lights at Ballig Bridge for around a month.
The Department of Infrastructure says work will started at the weekend, with three way traffic flow being maintained using temporary lights.
The scheme will improve the surface water drainage system in the area and should deal with instances of standing water after heavy rainfall.
It should also mitigate the threat of surface water flooding at nearby residential properties.
