Douglas to light up blue for health workers

Douglas will be lit up in blue from today in support of the vital work of the Islands medical staff.

Douglas Town Hall and Strand Street will be illuminated to acknowledge healthcare and social care workers on the frontline in the battle to stop the spread of Coronavirus.

Last week, homes and workplaces across the Isle of Man and UK held a round of applause to salute the work of NHS staff helping to combat COVID-19.

Council leader, David Christian, says the authority wants to publicly recognise the 'outstanding selflessness and dedication' of those who're at the forefront of tackling the crisis and also those supporting the most vulnerable and isolated in the community at this time.
