A new lifeboat's arrived in Douglas - but she won't be taking over rescue duties until the New Year.
The Margaret Jean, a Mersey-class vessel, is a temporary stand-in for the Sir William Hillary, which is due to be replaced next year.
A redevelopment of the RNLI boathouse in Douglas Harbour means the current lifeboat will launch from the slipway for the last time in January, and be replaced by the latest Shannon-class boat when work is complete.
The volunteer crew will being training on the Margaret Jean, which will operate in the interim period.
