Infrastructure Minister Michelle Haywood says her department's working on a way to allow annual public sector housing rents to be set earlier each year.
In the House of Keys this week she faced questions from Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas about the way rent increases are worked out.
Dr Haywood said rents were set according to a specific formula to make sure they're consistent.
And she added a review of how increases are worked out and applied each year is currently underway:
