DoE Minister comments on University tuition fees

The current system of covering tuition fees for local students looks set to change in light of tough economic conditions and a general increase in the yearly costs.

Universities were given the power to set their own fees significantly bumping up the financial burden shouldered by government. 

So far it's thought future award schemes will honour those opting to study subjects that could have benefit to the Island's economy although this hasn't been confirmed as yet. 

Minister Karran says he hopes people appreciate that tough decisions will have to be made.
