Industrial action and disruption to Steam Packet services is 'increasingly likely.'
That's according to trade union Nautilus International, which is currently balloting its members following threats of fire and rehire by the company.
It comes as the Steam Packet is changing conditions for staff, meaning they would spend more time on board its vessels.
The union says members have been told if they don't agree to these fundamental changes they will be sacked and offered a new contract.
It adds that it will also be seeking a meeting with the Island's treasury minister as soon as possible, as it believes government must intervene as disruption to vital supply chains is likely.
The ballot for industrial action closes on Monday.
