People in the Island need to avoid dangerous fad diets in the New Year.
That's the advice from the Department of Health - which says it is the time of the year when people look to make lifestyle changes.
The average person will put on approximately 5lb of weight by the end of December.
Community dietitian Hannah Crawford says although fad ideas might seem like a good idea in the short-term it isn't a healthy way of losing weight:
