Diabetes has risen by almost 50 per cent on the Island in the last decade - while obesity rates have fallen.
Ayre and Michael MHK Tim Baker asked for figures from Health and Social Care Minister Kate Beecroft in the House of Keys this week.
Mrs Beecroft said in 2005, 1,292 people were diagnosed with type 1 or 2 diabetes - in 2015 that figure had jumped to 1,908.
But the data also shows 2,831 people were medically obese in 2007 compared to just 2,438 in 2015.
