Bushy’s proposal to take over Castletown Commissioner’s works yard as a tap room and restaurant has been submitted to planning.
The brewery wants to erect a new building on the site which would be able to accommodate hospitality facilities and office space.
The existing workshop could become a 90-seat restaurant, with an outdoor seating area developed to seat 60 people.
Noise cancelling elements would be used including acoustic insulation in the building and appropriate lighting and CCTV will also be installed.
The brewery is currently located in Braddan but the buildings are said to be at the end of their life and would require ‘significant investment’ to update.
Twenty-five parking spaces would be provided, seven will be reserved for staff parking and some of the spaces are planned to have electric vehicle charging facilities, there will also be accessible parking provision and motorcycle and cycle parking.
