Deputy High Bailiff not needed in court case over social media post

Deputy High Bailiff Christopher Arrowsmith won't have to give evidence in a case about social media posts, a court has ruled.

Richard Robert Christian is suing Tracey Greenwood over a social media post about a previous case they'd faced each other in.

He wanted to call the deputy high bailiff as a witness in his case - but Judicial Officer Alexander Armstrong said it wasn't necessary because the court already had transcripts of what was said during those proceedings.

He set aside the witness summons and the case will now go to trial on Wednesday, October 7.
