In an effort to improve motorist and pedestrian safety the Department of Transport are trying to purchase two areas of land in Douglas to get things moving.
The land is crucial for successful completion of the highway improvement schemes.
The first of the two parcels of land is at the top of Richmond hill, with the second set in Cronk –y- Berry.
The areas mentioned are notorious accident hot spots, with poor visibility for Douglas bound drivers on both counts.
The work is all subject to land acquisition and Tynwald approval.
