The Health Minister has confirmed a working group has been set up to stop immigrants abusing the NHS system.
David Anderson made the revelation in the House of Keys yesterday following a question from Middle MHK Howard Quayle.
He wanted to know if the minister was aware an immigrant could come to the Island without a work permit but still access free medical treatment.
Mr Quayle says local doctors surgeries are only asking for proof of address and therefore people are receiving medical help without contributing to the Manx economy.
