Education Minister Julie Edge says her department will work closely with the Southern Swimming Pool's board after a U-turn over its closure.
The Department of Education Sport and Culture first announced a recommendation to close the pool before announcing it would remain open.
In the House of Keys, Mrs Edge said the department had told the board about the proposed closure before going public with the decision.
And she added both bodies were working together after plans for a new pool were unveiled:
