An MHK for West Douglas has suggested a government department should be abolished.
Chris Thomas made the comments about the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure in the House of Keys this week.
He wanted to know about the value of sports, art, culture and heritage – and when strategies for each would be published.
Minister Graham Cregeen told Members that it was an ongoing project and a strategy for sport would be ready by March.
However Mr Thomas says due to the department’s current deficit he can think of a different way forward:
