The majority of those who responded to a consultation support introducing a 20mph speed limit in an area of central Douglas.
Almost 600 residents had their say, with over half also supportive of new road crossings for pedestrians.
Government launched the survey after receiving two petitions from local residents in 2020 which sought the implementation of traffic calming measures in the capital.
The Department of Infrastructure is looking at a 1km zone which includes Ballakermeen High School and surrounding areas.
It will now use the feedback to develop a 'Living Streets Scheme' for the area, with hopes the detail design stage can start this year.
