Onchan commissioners have taken out a newspaper advert to distance themselves from a board member.
David Quirk made comments to the media about a spate of vandalism at a toilet block in the district.
That's now sparked a response from the local authority, which has spent ratepayers' money on an advert in the Isle of Man Courier explaining Mr Quirk doesn't speak for the board.
The advert says his comment don't reflect the commissioners' policy on the matter, and other members can't guarantee the truth or reliability of his statements.
