Coastguards were called out in the south of the Island yesterday after reports of someone in difficulties.
Port Erin's volunteers were alerted shortly after 6pm when a member of the public said they'd spotted someone at Buroo Ned, near The Sound.
When they arrived, however, they found a fisherman who wasn't in any difficulties.
Coastguards say the member of the public did the right thing - and if you suspect someone's in trouble you should always dial 999 and report it.
