Claire Christian resigns from DESC

Douglas South MHK Claire Christian has resigned from the Department of Education, Sport and Culture.

In her letter to the Chief Minister, she says the criticism towards Julie Edge and the department over the Southern Pool and ‘interference by other senior ministers’ led to her decision.

Mrs Christian adds that she’s concerned the direction of policy and funding decisions might now be more influenced by those not responsible for the department. 

She had been a member of DESC for the past three and a half years.
