Chief says horse tram tracks will relocate to Ramsey

In a radical turn-around, a decision for the future of the horse tram tracks on Douglas Promenade has been reached.

Plans were in place to re-position the tracks onto the promenade walkway - with an estimated price tag of £4 million.
 
Following a meeting after the House of Keys yesterday, it has been determined the tram tracks will be lifted sooner than planned - and re-located to Ramsey.
 
The transportation of the tracks will require a total closure of the Laxey coast road between 9am and 5pm from tomorrow to the 8th. 
 
Although the works will cost the taxpayer an estimated £40 million, Chief Minister Allan Bell says the impact it will have on Ramsey's tourist offering will be invaluable:
