Allan Bell has called on the support of the local business community to help deliver his vision for achieving a sustainable future for the Island.
The Ramsey MHK used his address at the Manx State of the Nation conference to say stimulating further economic growth was at the very heart of his plans for the Island.
He said a failure to embrace change and adapt to new realities could undermine the progress made over the past 25 years.
The Chief Minister pointed out the relatively strong position the Island is in currently, with no external borrowing and an unemployment rate below 2.5%.
However despite this he concluded by saying without a strong and sustainable economy, the Island will always be vulnerable to external pressure.
