Change ahead for IoM horse charity

The long standing general manager at the Home of Rest for Old Horses has announced her retirement.

Jill Moore has been running the home for 27 years after taking over from her mother who was one of the founders.

In a recent social media post the home said: "After such a long tenure and family connection with the Home, Jill has decided that the time is right to hand over the reins (literally) and to enjoy a well-earned retirement".

Her replacement has been announced as Barbara Cucchi who holds a BSc Hns Degree from the Royal Agricultural University in Equine studies.

She also has holds qualifications in vet science, sports performance, nutrition and business and marketing.

Ms Cucchie said: "I’m so excited and feel extremely humble and privileged to have been given this amazing opportunity.

" I cannot wait to meet you all when you come visit our incredible extended family at the home and grab a cuppa and have a natter".

The Home of Rest for Old Horses in Santon has over 90 acres of land.

It cares for around 60 horses and ponies and eleven donkeys.
