Castletown Commissioners says it wants to make the town a better place for residents and visitors this year.
Chair Jamie Horton says the authority had lots of ‘positive feedback’ from the closure of the square to traffic and the screening of sporting events within it during 2023.
A request has been submitted to the Department of Infrastructure for the permanent closure of Market Square with hopes this will mean more live events year-round.
Mr Horton says the board is also looking forward to new businesses joining the town.
