North Douglas MHK David Ashford is calling for police budgets to be protected from any further cuts.
In Tynwald questions next week, he'll ask Home Affairs Minister Bill Malarkey MHK whether he'll resist any further cutbacks.
Mr Ashford says the Isle of Man Constabulary has already had to make savings, along with all other areas of government.
He says he's worried future cuts might hamper crime prevention and investigations:
