Building with First World War connections won't be registered

The Drill Hall on Peel Road

Government has refused to protect a building in Douglas which has a long association with the First World War.

That's despite a belief that the Drill Hall on Peel Road, which has been in use since 1896, meets the criteria for being registered as a building of historical interest. 
 
It won't be added to the Protected Buildings Register but a plaque may be put on the site to reflect its history if and when it's redeveloped.
