The cost of having plans checked and building work inspected is going to rise.
The Department of Infrastructure's Building Fees Regulations Act 2013 has come into force this week.
It means an increase of 3.5 per cent.
The department says despite the rise the Island's fee levels remain lower than in most other jurisdictions.
