Bride Headteacher speaks to 3FM

The headteacher of both Bride and Andreas School, Bromwyn Udy, has been speaking to 3FM following the proposed measures to close Bride indefinitely at the end of the school year.

Along with the decision to axe Government-funded pre-school education, the primary school's closure was seen as one of the most controversial decisions of last week's Budget.

The decision was reached as it was deemed the money could be better spent elsewhere.

It was also earmarked for closure after it was established the school would likely have only four  pupils attending from September.

All affected pupils will be transferred to Andreas Primary School.

Mrs Udy says her main priority now is to ensure the seamless transfer of the pupils in the event that closure gets the official go ahead.
