A biker from Bolton who died following a crash on the Mountain Road was travelling at 100mph when he hit the back of a car.
The inquest into the death of 55-year-old Shaun Watkinson was opened at Douglas Courthouse last week.
He died on June 2nd at the 26th Milestone after his bike collided with the back of a Citroen C4.
A post mortem confirmed he died from massive blunt force trauma - predominantly to his head and thorax.
Coroner of Inquests John Needham released Mr Watkinson's body to his family so funeral arrangements can take place - the inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
