Body investigations continue but no 'suspicious circumstances'

Police say they don't believe there are any 'suspicious circumstances' surrounding a body that washed up on the Island last month.

Officers say enquiries are continuing to 'positively identify' the male body which was found on a remote beach near Niarbyl on August 8th.

Peel Lifeboat, the coastguard and a farmer were involved in the recovery of the corpse after it was found by members of the public.

It's been confirmed a post-mortem examination has been carried out and the report from the pathologist is awaited.

Police say a date for an inquest has not yet been set and they will publish more information as it becomes available.
