This morning's sailing to Heysham was cancelled after a technical problem caused a small fire on the Ben-my-Chree earlier today.
The Steam Packet confirmed the vessel suffered a 'major turbo charger failure' whilst travelling overnight from Heysham to Douglas.
It says the failure also called a small fire - which was immediately dealt with by on-board crew.
Engineers are currently working to replace the failed turbocharger, in the hopes of getting the Ben-my-Chree back up and running as soon as possible.
It comes after this morning's 7.30am Manannan sailing to Liverpool, and it's return crossing were called off because of unexpected poor weather.
The Steam Packet says alternative crossings to Heysham are being planned to minimise passenger disruption, and will give an update later today.
