£9 million to be spent on new primary school

Building a new £9 million school in Douglas will help transform an area that was "blighted" by the closure of the old hospital.

That's the view of the Department of Education and Children which last week secured the funding to progress the project. 
 
Tynwald voted unanimously for the new Henry Bloom Noble primary school to be built on Westmoreland Road. 
 
Work will start in January and the school is due to open to the public in 2016. 
 
Minister Tim Crookall says it will bring a wealth of benefits:
