A leading scientific forum says no plaice should be caught in the waters around the Isle of Man next year.
The International Council for the Exploration of the Sea has made recommendations for the Irish Sea for 2027.
In it, the body says in order to protect fisheries for the future there should be no plaice caught in the Irish Sea next year.
It also recommends capping catches of herring at 3,716 tonnes, and limits of 586 tonnes of haddock and 548 tonnes of sole.
