The number of work visas has fallen by more than 300 over the past two years.
Figures were given by Treasury Minister Chris Thomas in the House of Keys this week, in response to a question from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse.
The minister said 1,539 such visas were issued last year, down from 1,869 in 2024.
Mr Moorhouse wanted to find out how many people had arrived here without valid visas, but Mr Thomas replied it wasn't possible to say:
