Work on 'key assets' will improve wellbeing says DOI

Prioritising the maintenance of 'key assets' will improve the social and economic wellbeing of the Isle of Man.

That's the claim from the Department of Infrastructure which has set out a programme of work being carried out on roads, bridges, retaining walls, harbours and breakwaters.

Minister Ray Harmer says the department is responsible for providing good quality infrastructure that supports 'our people' and economic growth.

He says it's important to invest in the maintenance of our assets regularly to avoid costly interventions in the future.

Work is currently being done at the northern end of Douglas Promenade, on the main Foxdale Road, at Laxey Bridge and to the 120-year old navigation lighthouses in Ramsey.
