The coastguard's urging people to be safe after a number of incidents where paddleboarders got into difficulty in strong winds yesterday, Wednesday, May 27.
Its advice includes wearing a flotation aid and a leash to stay connected to the board.
They're also asking people on the water to carry a way of calling for help, such as a phone in a waterproof case or marine VHF radio.
The emergency service also suggests taking a training course to learn how to safely use watercraft like stand-up paddleboards and kayaks.
