Visiting biker flown off Island following serious collision

Police say a visitor involved in a crash on Monday morning has been flown off Island with "severe injuries".

They were flown directly to a UK hospital following a serious crash on the TT Course between Ballaugh and Sulby.

It happened just 10 minutes before the roads shut for racing.

Police have confirmed a motorist was arrested and charged with causing serious injury by driving without due care and attention.

Officers also dealt with a motorcycle collision on the Mountain Road on Monday - no one was injured but the police said it was a case where rider ego clearly outweighed their riding ability.
