Union condemns hospitality work permit stance

Relaxing work permit regulations in the hospitality sector will mean European workers are exploited. 

That's the message from Unite the Union which has condemned the Department of Economic Development's decision. 

Earlier this week it was announced the process to request exemptions for seasonal workers was being simplified in a bid to boost the workforce. 

However Unite says it's a way of filling roles which are not seen as 'being fit' for local workers.
