Unemployment Drops for Third Consecutive Month
Unemployment on the Island has fallen for its third successive month to its lowest levels since the end of 2008.
The recent job market stats reflect some positive news for the Island as unemployment levels have reached their lowest levels in 18 months.
Over the past month 57 people came off the unemployment register knocking the total number of people out of work to 867, that’s 2% of the economically active population.
Of the total number of unemployed 624 are males and 243 are females.
There are currently 449 positions on file at the job centre.
