Tynwald members won't get a half-term break in February yet - but will discuss the issue again next year.
This week, Glenfaba and Peel MHK Kate Lord-Brennan asked members to back a motion which would have created a half-term recess and bring in four more sittings of the House of Keys and Legislative Council.
But her motion was amended by MLC Tanya August-Hanson, who said a report on sittings should be prepared by no later than January.
After her amendment won the support of members, the Tynwald standing orders committee will now look into the issue.
