A Tynwald committee is urging the government to rebuild three former railway bridges at an estimated cost of around £2 million, to create Britain's second-longest cycleway.
In 2020, the department of Infrastructure said it would carry out the work on the Heritage Trail at a cost of £1.3 million, but scrapped the proposals last August because of rising costs.
Now, the Environment and Infrastructure Policy Review Committee says the DOI and the Department for Enterprise should revisit the plans - describing them as "an opportunity worth pursuing".
Its report into active travel on the Island is due to be discussed by Tynwald members in May.
