A total of 61,225 income tax returns were filed during the previous tax year, with around two thirds done online.
The data was given in response to a Freedom of Information request, which asked for the figures for 2023 to 2024.
The answer went on to say 13.7 percent of returns recorded employment as the only source of income.
Meanwhile, the other 86.3 percent reported more than one income source or tax deductions, such as mortgages or personal pension premiums.
