Trial for Douglas man accused of child sex crimes

Trial dates have been set for a Douglas man who's been accused of sex crimes against children.

56-year-old Antony Carus appeared at Douglas Courthouse last week where he was told he'll stand trial in July.

He's previously pleaded not guilty to carrying out 11 offences including a number of counts of gross indecency with a child and indecent assault.

They allegedly took place between 2001 and 2012 and relate to four alleged victims.

A 15-day jury trial will start on July 10th 2017 - it will be presided over by Deemster Birkett.

A bail application was approved and he was released from the Isle of Man Prison and placed on bail until the trial starts.
