Police are investigating the robbery which happened at the RHS Jewellers on Prospect Hill in Douglas on Friday.
The lone thief threatened the shop owner with a hammer and took off on a motorcycle.
The bike was then dumped in Belmont Terrace where the man proceeded to burn the helmet and clothing worn during the crime.
