A teenager who drunkenly assaulted his father before riding his motorbike has been put on probation.
Elliott Johnson of Main Road in Santon admitted assault when he appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The court heard the 17 year old was drunk just before 11.30pm on August 28 when he rowed with his parents over a bottle of wine he took from the fridge at their home.
He asked his father if he wanted to die and threatened to hurt him if he rang the police, throwing his mother’s walking stick across the room and grabbing his dad by the throat.
Johnson then rode his motorbike to Douglas where police stopped him in York Road one and a half times the legal limit.
Magistrates fined him £500 and put him on probation for a year as well as banning him from the roads for 12 months, after which he’ll have to retake his test.
