The Island is bringing in stricter measures to help prevent the spread of Foot and Mouth Disease.
It’s after a case of the disease was confirmed in Germany last week.
Today the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture has stopped the import of untreated wool from countries outside the British Isles that are not recognized as FMD-free.
Chief Veterinary Officer Dr Amy Beckett says that the illness does not pose a risk to human health but is highly contagious in animals and can lead to significant economic loss.
