TT Ace Injured. Manx Lad Takes Lead.
Superbike race favourite Steve Plater came off his Honda machine at Quarry Hill in the North West 200 in Ireland yesterday, it’s thought he’s broken his wrist.
Steve was a favourite for some podium finishes in next months TT.
Although his injuries aren’t said to be serious, if it is a break then its highly likely he will miss the TT.
He had a win last year and the year before and was in poll position in the NW 200 at the time of his crash.
He is to undergo surgery today but whether he will be recovered in time to retain his TT title is uncertain.
Meanwhile 23-year-old road racing sensation from Ramsey Conor Cummins is on course to become the Isle of Man’s first North West 200 winner in years, after setting the Superstock pole time during yesterday’s final practice session.
He got his best ever qualifying session time.
