Suspensions at Island schools have nearly doubled in the past five years.
The figure was revealed in the House of Keys this week when Onchan MHK Julie Edge questioned Education, Sport and Culture Minister Graham Cregeen.
In response, Mr Cregeen said in 2013 pupils were kept out of school for a total of 677 days, however in 2017 that figure had risen to 1,195.
Of the Island's six secondary schools Ballakermeen topped the table with a total of 1,672 days, and the fewest suspensions were at Castle Rushen with a total of 338 days.
