The Manx public have been warned to look out for a scam email in circulation relating to the Japanese emergency appeal.
The fraudsters have sent a lengthy email detailing the scale of the Japanese Disaster, appealing to the recipient to pledge a financial donation.
They claim they are sending the plea on behalf of the Japanese Red Cross, this isn’t the case.
The British Red Cross has identified this as a scam and is making efforts to close it down.
If anyone has any more information on this scam they’re asked to contact the Office Of Fair Trading.
