The Salvation Army has asked to use a former school as a place of worship while it builds new headquarters in Douglas.
In a planning application the organisation says it wants to use Fairfield School on Tynwald Street for its meetings while the citadel on Lord Street is demolished and rebuilt.
The Salvation Army says it would use the building to house its worship hall, a nursery and meeting areas for around two years.
The school closed when the new Henry Bloom Noble Primary School was completed.
